BUST A CRUST! Pie-K 5K Run/Walk

Our second annual Bust a Crust! Pie-K 5K supports Meals on Wheels’ mission to provide home delivered meals, senior services and pet support to 10,000+ seniors so they can live safely and comfortably at home. Food remains at the heart of what we do. Each year, we deliver 1.4 million meals throughout 4 Ohio and 8 Kentucky counties. We have a menu of 24+ items and prepare 4,000 meals in our restaurant-grade kitchen daily. We are supported by a diverse staff of 150 team members and a dedicated army of 1,200 volunteers.  We are leading the fight for senior hunger with innovative programs.

Our Pie-K 5K kicks off our signature fundraising event Bust a Crust! 2022 in which we sell Thanksgiving pies to raise money to support our important work for seniors.

RACE DETAILS:

This Pie-K 5K is a timed race for runners and walkers. It’s family friendly and open to all! (Sorry, but no dogs are permitted.) The beautiful Spring Grove race route is paved and accessible for all ages, strollers and wagons.

All participants receive a race T-shirt and medal.  Trophies will be awarded to the overall top three male and female runners and the overall male and female walkers.  Prizes will be awarded to the first place male and female finishers determined by chip time in each age group: 6-12, 12-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+.

Free parking is provided at Spring Grove Cemetery & Arboretum adjacent to race start/finish.

POST RACE:

Please join us for festivities at the conclusion of the race, including an awards ceremony, yummy pie (of course!), food, beverages and music by DJ Brandon Scott Perry of Sound For Days.

DONATE:

Click the DONATE button on the race registration site to make an additional gift or to honor a senior with a donation in their name! Senior honorees will be recognized in signage along the race route.  Participants can also write family or senior’s names they want to honor on their race bib. The race provides an opportunity for people to remember seniors they love in a way that brings together community and promotes health and well-being.

Pie Orders:

Bust a Crust! pie pre-orders will be taken at the Pie-K.  Online ordering won’t be available to the general public until October 15. Pie pick up and delivery will be prior to Thanksgiving. See www.bustacrust.org for more details!
