Alpine Trail Race Series 3.0: French Park

Welcome to Season 3 of the Alpine Trail Race Series (ATRS)! Get ready to experience one of the most scenic off-road trails in Cincinnati. Whether you are hunting for fossils in the creek or looking to conquer the city’s best elevation gains, French Park has it all.

Location & Course

Place: French Shelter Park

7154 Knoll Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45237

The Terrain: Enjoy a mix of sprawling meadows and wooded perimeters. French Park is a local favorite for its elevation—boasting 331 ft of total ascent for the full loop and 154 ft for the short loop.

Distances:

• 5K: Single loop course

• 10K: 2 loops

• Half Marathon: 4 loops

• Note: Course routes are subject to change as necessary.

Race Day Schedule

• BIB Pickup: 8:30 AM – 8:50 AM

• Race Start: 9:00 AM sharp!

• Course Time Limit: 3 hours

• Themed Fun: All 5K and 10K races feature a fun theme. While not required, costumes are highly encouraged—we give out a Best Costume Award at every race!

• Series Points: All runners earn points toward our yearly awards. Winners (Male & Female) even get a travel opportunity! [Click here for details].

• Finisher T-Shirts: * Half Marathon: Included with registration.

  • Note: Register at least 12 business days early to receive your shirt on race day. Late registrations will have shirts shipped post-race.

• Youth Discount: To promote trail running, we offer a 15% discount for anyone under 20!

The Fine Print

• Community First: We are a small race series—a great way to meet local runners and walkers.

• Flexibility: If you miss the race, you can transfer your registration to another ATR event.

• Rules: No dogs on the course. Entry fees are non-refundable. All times are based on gun starts.

• Registration: All participants must register via RunSignup.

ATRS Series Standings & Points

The series runs from March 1 to October 31. Complete any qualifying ATR race to be automatically enrolled. Awards are mailed December 1st to the top 3 point-earners in each age category.
