2017 East Side Runner’s Symposium

Join us for the 2017 East Side Runner’s Symposium. Enjoy a morning with running community members and listen to experts provide helpful running tips. Information will help runners at any level – from beginners to those who are working on your next big race – and all ages.
You’ll learn how to achieve your running goals, including how to avoid injuries and the importance of maintaining an active schedule. You’ll discover running strategies based on evidence, best practices and experience that integrates anatomy, physiology and injury prevention. You’ll also learn when and how to reach out to professionals when you need them. The symposium will conclude with three interactive breakout session that will have an immediate impact on your running success. You are invited to visit participating vendors to get information on the latest running technology and products.
· Dr. Laurah Lukin, Assistant Dean and Professor of Medical Education at the University of Cincinnati, is an athlete and coach who works to inspire an active lifestyle and encourage other women to be engaged in their own health. She has participated as an elite athlete in numerous road races, marathons and triathlons including Ironman 70.3 World Championships.
· Harvey Sweetland Lewis, an American ultrarunner, social studies and economics teacher, world traveler and public speaker who won the Badwater Ultramarathon near Death Valley, CA, in July 2014 in just under 23 hours and 53 minutes. Harvey is one of the most popular local, ultra-marathoners.
